The "Getting Around" section on the Somerset County Council website has only limited information on bus services in West Somerset which covers 2/3rds of Exmoor.www.somerset.gov.uk/ 

Devon County Council's website features a very helpful bus information service including a map showing all the bus routes: www.devon.gov.uk/devonbus/exmoor.html (site can be slow to load)

Timetables for buses serving the West and South of Exmoor (North Devon) can be found at www.northdevon.gov.uk/gettingaround/

ATMOS Ltd have been appointed by Somerset County Council to manage the counties' bus services.

Printed Timetables featuring bus services on and around Exmoor are jointly produced by ATMOS Ltd and The Exmoor National Park Authority with financial assistance from the Countryside Agency.  They are usually produced twice a year; Winter/Spring (Oct-May) and Summer/Autumn (May-Oct).  
Visitors
should ask for the "Exmoor and West Somerset Connections" booklet which features not only bus timetables but route guides/walks and other helpful information.  The West Somerset Railway timetables are also included.

West Somerset Railway plc. (WSR)

Steam and diesel hauled trains between Bishops Lydeard (near Taunton) and Minehead.  
(Negotiations are continuing for a passenger rail service on to Taunton mainline station from Bishops Lydeard (approx 3 miles).  There is currently a bus link (see below).
